About

Well hello there! If you stumble upon this page, welcome!

While many classify beauty right into the "futilities" drawer, I believe it's an essential sociological and anthropological mark. How we view beauty and how we pursue beauty says a lot about our time, the way we evolve, and places certain issues into a new perspective. What is beautiful? What are the issues around the quest for beauty? Can real beauty be owned by anyone? Seen by anyone? Can one become beautiful?  The rise of the cosmetics industry as well as the current representation of men and women are some of the numerous indicators of the place beauty holds in our lives. But what's also interesting is to look at the way different cultures may view beauty differently. As an expat kid in Japan for 3 years, and then one year as an exchange student, I became fascinated with the place beauty routines and the quest for beauty holds in some people's lives. And also the way the quest for beauty is incarnated on an everyday basis.

I've come to wonder about what beauty truly is, and what the quest for beauty entails for the modern era, in Europe, where I'm from, but also elsewhere. Because that's what today's world is all about, diversity. We celebrate diversity and embrace new kinds of beautiful everyday. I intend to go on working for the cosmetic industry, and am truly passionate about beauty. So I thought it pertinent to tackle such a topic in a blog.

Please enjoy!
